An Estimator is responsible for preparing accurate estimates for projects by gathering information and analyzing important metrics by providing ongoing assistance to our sales staff.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare cost estimates & pricing presentations by analyzing vendor proposals along with manufacturing requirements
  • Prepares work to be estimated by:
  • Gathering project specifications
  • Requesting & analyzing vendor quotations
  • Examining production method
  • Ascertaining best manufacturing practices
  • Identifies labor, material, & scheduling requirements by studying proposals, drawings, & other related documents.
  • Refers incomplete specifications requirements to account managers, sales service, or client for clarification
  • Computes costs by identifying labor, material, & time requirements
  • Refines specification based on knowledge & experience to:
  • Achieve efficient production methods
  • Lower costs
  • Increased suitability for end use
  • Adds additional manufacturing steps to ensure quality standards
  • Presents prepared estimates to client & account manager by assembling & displaying numerical & descriptive details
  • Creates organized & detailed production planning, communicated throughout the manufacturing process
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing tasks & goals in a timely manner
  • Build relationships with established, new, and key vendors
  • Provide consultation on planning, including:
  • Schedules
  • Manpower needs
  • Etc.
  • Other projects as assigned or needed

Required Education

  •  Bachelor’s degree or equivalent

Required Work Experience

  • 3-5 years estimating experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Industry experience in Industrial Engineering or related field preferred

Required Qualifications & Skills

  • Ability to manage multiple, ongoing projects with efficiency and accuracy
  • Analytical mindset with emphasis on mathematical calculations
  • Exceptional written & oral communication in a professional business environment
  • Aptitude to learn & put into effective use across multiple software platforms
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Thoroughness & reliability
  • Proficient in relevant software including MS Office Suite

Preferred Skills

  • Familiar with CNC machinery centers
  • Working knowledge of ERP systems (Global Shop) or equivalent
  • Plastic fabrication, laser cutting, & router cutting knowledge is beneficial
